Improving the lives of children in communities high above and around the Sacred Valley of Peru

The NGO Living Heart was formed in August of 2007 with the goal to improve the lives of the Andean children and women within the communities of the Sacred Valley, near Cusco, Peru. Living Heart is an association without profitable aims. The actions and programmes have been developed to combine educational strategies, conservation, nutritional and health advice, include family planning support, with the purpose of promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the Andean people.

This work is particularly aimed at benefiting the lives of disadvantaged children. Living Heart is currently working with five communities. Current projects include; providing breakfasts, educational activities and supplies for schools, organizing art and theatre classes for children, providing seeds and plants so schools can create scholastic organic gardens, and organizing doctor visits to communities.
